The basis of what the charrette is that it was a repair project, The challenge was to take an old broken product randomly assigned to my group and fix it however the group saw fit
Duration: Ten days
Tools Used: Fusion360, Adobe Softwares, Woodwork Machinery, 3D Printing, Molding, Casting, Sand Blasting
The object assigned to the group was a pair of tongs with broken handles, rusted metal with rigid mechanics
The goal was to fix all these problems in our new tongs, consisting of new resin handles filled with wood shaving from the old handles design to better fit the user
Sketching was done by to explore new handles with a better, more comfortable grip

Below are images of steps taken along the way of 3D printing new handles, casting and molding the new handles, sand blasting the old metal to clean it and then conducting heat treatment to clean up
Finally, a final product was created reaching the goals given to the group at the beginning of the project that they had set out for themselves
